Last night Last Comic Standing aired their second invitational round. We only counted twelve performances and nine of them advanced to the next round, which was odd, since last week only about half of the comedians who performed advanced.

Last Comic Standing premiered last night, with a whole new vibe. Norm Macdonald is on board as a new judge this year, and taking over Roseanne's position as the most likely to say something really weird and controversial, or give a compliment that sounds like its going to be an insult #NormSays.

Owen Smith's name is familiar to comedy fans on both coasts and his face is familiar to television viewers, who may still just know him as a “Hey, it’s THAT guy!” thanks to his numerous guest roles and memorable commercial appearances (he was the guy who did a choreographed dance with his State Farm agent on the jumbotron). NBC's stand up comedy competition show "Last Comic Standing" is back this Summer with a new judge, Norm Macdonald. The former SNL Weekend Update anchorman will be on the panel along side returning judges Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Norm Macdonald replaces Russell Peters as a judge on LCS. Peters is back on the road on his current "Almost Famous" world tour.
