Las Vegas Comedy Shows for 2015 To Look For

Any trip to Vegas is going to be a blast in whatever way you choose to spend your time. Of course, for many people, Sin City is all about casino gaming. But this amazing city is so much more than that. In Las Vegas, you’ll find the most extravagant and opulent hotels, the biggest and flashiest casinos, and the biggest line-up of live performances and shows on the planet. These feature everything, including theatre and comedy, magic and illusion, cabaret and burlesque. For many visitors, seeing some of the big Las Vegas shows is just as important as spending time playing casino.

This year, there are some great comedy acts in Las Vegas. Here, we’ve rounded up a few of the most anticipated stand-up shows taking place in 2015.

Jay Leno at The Mirage

Jay Leno is best known for his role as main host of The Tonight Show for 17 years,  but he started his career as a stand-up comedian. In the early 1970s, he was the opening act for big- name entertainers such as Tom Jones and John Denver. While working on The Tonight Show, Jay continued his life as a stand-up comedian and averaged around 150 shows a year. Now,though, his Tonight Show days are behind him and he can concentrate on the stand-up full-time.

Jay actually returned to The Tonight Show with his stand-up routine in November last year

You’ll have to time your visit to Vegas carefully to catch Jay’s show at the Mirage this year. He’s playing once a month from May to November at the Terry Fator Theatre. Just as when he’s on TV, Leno is suited and booted and moves around the stage as he talks to the crowd. He’s got observational comedy that people of all ages can relate to. And if you’re thinking of taking thekids, don’t worry, he keeps it light on the profanities.

Lipshtick Comedy Series at The Venetian

If you want to see some of the most renowned and the newest female comedy talent, then there’s no better choice than the Lipshtick Comedy Series hosted by The Venetian. It’s a unique comedy series that sees a rotation of different performers each weekend and stand-up is the name of the game. Lipshtick leading ladies in May 2015 include Loni Love and Whitney Cummings, creator and star of ‘Whitney’ on NBC and one of the stars of ‘Comedy Central Roasts’.

If you’re in Sin City in June, you could get tickets to see Lisa Lampanelli, aka The Queen of Mean, whose comedy is often full of ethnic and racial stereotypes and insults that have been known to get her into some trouble with fellow comedians over the years, or the irascible Roseanne Barr take centre stage at The Sands Showroom at The Venetian.

Scott Thompson isn’t a name that many of us know very well. However, his pseudonym Carrot Top is one that millions have heard of. Carrot Top has received accolades such as Entertainer of the Year and Comedian of the Year. Anyone who goes to his show at Luxor in Las Vegas this year will probably spend most of the evening in hysterics. As well as his jokes, Carrot Top makes use of a large load of crazy props and inventions during his show. His wild mop of red hair tops off the maelstrom of entertainment that he dazzles his audiences with. This is no laconic quiet wit. Be prepared for a riotous night with Carrot Top. His high-energy show takes place nightly at the Luxor.

Of course, these are just a few of the many amazing comedy shows you can catch in Las Vegas this year. If you’re planning a trip to Sin City, make sure to check out who’s performing when. It’s always a good idea to book tickets ahead rather than being disappointed to find out the show you had set your heart on seeing has been sold out by the time you get there.
