“Last Comic Standing” has its new judge and its new host and now it has its official 2015 start date. Norm Macdonald joins Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans on the judges panel while new host Anthony Jeselnik emcees season 9 starting Wednesday, July 22nd at 9pm et on NBC.
The new season of LCS begins with the invitational round. A comedian has to be personally asked to audition just to be part of this opening round. 100 of the best comics in the country compete for the 20 “Last Comic Standing” spots available on the series. The comics battle their way through a season of comedy challenges, surprise guest mentors and the extremely tense “Head-to-Head” competition rounds like the infamous Season 8 Joe Machi versus Monroe Martin “Head-to-Head” battle that seemed like it would never end. When this season is all over, one stand up will be crowned the “Last Comic Standing”. The winning comedian receives $250,000 and a talent and development deal for a series on NBC.
“Last Comic Standing”, the season 9 premiere, happens Wednesday, July 22nd at with a special 2 hour season opener at 9pm et on NBC. LCS then moves to its regular time at 10pm et on Wednesday, July 29th.
