3. Deacon Jones- Play the Game
The man who nicknamed himself, “Deacon” Jones was signed to Sundown records and toured while backed up by his band Nightshift. The act caught the attention of veteran record producer Jerry Goldstein who recommended Nightshift to Eric Burdon from The Animals. Deacon’s music career wasn’t getting much success and Burdon went on to team with Nightshit to form the group War. Deacon’s acting career led to a notable appearance on “The Brady Bunch” and other TV shows including “The Odd Couple” and “Bewitched”. He also had a part in Warren Beatty’s “Heaven Can Wait”.
