Don’t Worry About Paul Mooney

Paul Mooney is getting old. For an African American man in today’s society, that is something to brag about. For an African American male in today’s society that ran with an anti war theater group and Jane Fonda, while spending his whole life as a vocal activist for black America? Well that’s just a goddamn miracle. This week, two articles came out discussing Paul Mooney’s career. The first was from Vulture entitled “The Curious Decline of Paul Mooney” and the second was from Madame Noir entitled “There is Nothing “Curious” or ”Declining” about Paul Mooney”.

Remembering Comedy Legend Bob Elliott (1923-2016)

Regardless of whether you know the name or not-- let alone his comedy-- Bob Elliott contribution to comedy is one not only of note, but worth celebrating. From Fernwood Tonight to National Lampoon’s Radio Hour to SNL’s Weekend Update, Bob Elliott and his partner Ray Goulding set a standard that so many comics have tried their hardest to live up to. With partner Ray Goulding, they were masters of both improv comedy and parodying the media they appeared on, while satirizing everything with signature low-key, deadpan humor.

The bizarre KFC marketing plan involving the return of the Colonel is winding its way toward another big and confusing moment at the Super Bowl. Just when you got used to comedian Norm MacDonald as KFC's odd new mascot, a teaser is released portending his demise. The new KFC teaser spot intermingles trippy visuals and discordant audio while a haunted version of the song "So Long, Fair Well" plays and MacDonald waves farewell.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson Drops The Mic On B.O.B

Neil DeGrasse Tyson decided to take matters into his own hands in the most unlikely feud of the century. He appeared on 'The Nightly Show' to set the record straight with a diss rant that would put any wannabe rapper in their place. He finish his verbal beat down of B.O.B by saying "The Earth isn't Fucking Flat!", then adds, "and by the way, this is called gravity", before dropping the mic. The Earth may not be flat, but B.O.B's ego sure is.
