Steve Martin Bumped Tom Papa and Papa Loved it

Steve Martin recently performed a mythologically rare opening stand up set at a Jerry Seinfeld show, held at the Beacon Theater in New York on the eighteenth. Martin’s opening set, the first since he left stand up thirty five years ago, was a complete surprise for audience members. Not surprisingly, Martin’s act was well received.

Eddie Izzard ’27 Marathon’ Marathon is Underway

When super fans of Eddie Izzard heard that he’s running 27 marathons in 27 days, they likely responded “yeah, that seems about right.” This isn’t the first time Izzard has accomplished an incredible athletic feat, in 2009 he completed 43 marathons in 51 days across the UK for Sport Relief, raising over £1.8m. Izzard has a bit of a Midas touch, whether it’s acting, writing, politics, or selling out enormous arenas for standup comedy (in 4 different languages btw), there’s nothing the guy can’t do.

@midnight Will Air Live Via Periscope at SXSW

In true “the best of the best” SXSW fashion, every performer on the list has comedy fans gushing “Oh my god, he/she is hilarious!” But some of the most exciting news is that late-night TV show history will be made. According to EW, Comedy Central’s @midnight With Chris Hardwick, will air a full episode live via Periscope from Austin, Texas, co-hosted by EW. This will be the first time a late-night show will be broadcast exclusively on the video streaming app.
