Watch the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season Two Trailer
It’s been a good year so far for fans of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” In January we learned the show was picked up for a 3rd season, and this week Netflix released the trailer for “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” Season 2, which premieres on April 15. This has created an interesting excitement for Tax Day to “get here already!!!”
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”, is the a breakout hit created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. It stars Ellie Kemper as the wide-eyed title character who is rescued after 15 years of living with a religious cult and is now trying to re-acclimate to the world in NYC.
The new video features Kimmy (Ellie Kemper) , Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski) and Tituss (Tituss Burgess). It pays homage to notable quotes from Season 1, including “Stranger Danger Ranger” and “Peeno Noir.” (Forgivably missing is a salute the costume that is “definitely not Miss Piggy.)
The trailer is a thrill, but still leaves some burning questions unanswered. The hardcoare fans are curious if Kimmy lives in the same fantastical NYC as 30 Rock? Will she run into Jack Donaghy this season? The more practical fans are wondering about the content of season two now that censorship is less strict.
The first season was originally designed to air on NBC before Netflix picked it up. Season 2 has been developed for the streamer’s audience. At TCA (Television Critics Association) this year, Fey assured critics that the changes wouldn’t be too noticeable. “We did talk about … whether, ‘Oh, well, I don’t think Kimmy would ever start cussing, but would she walk by people that were cursing horribly?’” Fey told Variety. “[But] we’ve realized that our audience is young — I thought, well, as a mom, I would hate to trust this show and then put on the second season, and then it was just, you know… prison sex.”
Sounds like impressionable and jaded minds alike are in for a real treat.
