Earlier this month, comedy website Comedywire announced that they were hosting a contest for up and coming writers that could help put one lucky stand-up on the map. The Stress Factory released an official statement today after video of an incident at the club was posted on TMZ.com. TMZ had reported that a fight broke out during Margaret Cho's performance Saturday night and that many patrons left the club after Cho got a little heavy into some sensitive topics include rape. Cho, who is a victim of childhood rape herself, blamed jetlag for the incident which was partially recorded on video by an audience member.

TMZ is reporting that Margaret Cho's set on Saturday Night in New Jersey caused fights and walked a lot of the crowd. Reportedly Cho went on a tear about rape and being a rape victim and complained about white people having it so easy.

Comedy enthusiasts Matt Balaker and Wayne Jones have launched a website for their upcoming biography of the late, legendary comic Greg Giraldo. The as-yet untitled book has been a work in progress since Balaker launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the project in September of 2015. The writer hit his $3,000 goal within two weeks of creating the Kickstarter page, and has spent the time since then collecting photos of the comedian and interviewing his friends, family, and comedy peers.
