Seth Meyers is a Daddy

Get ready for lots of first time baby advice talk on Late Night this week, because Seth Meyers just became a daddy for the first time.
Congratulations to Meyers and his wife Alexi Ashe on becoming first time parents. The Meyers-Ashe family welcomed their first child into the world on Sunday, March 27. It’s a boy, if you’re curious but that’s the only detail released to the press so far. Meyers returns to his desk at Late Night on NBC on Tuesday March 29 and will undoubtably have plenty of stories to tell .
Meyers shared pictures on instagram earlier this week that showed him planning to, attempting to and actually succeeding in building a crib for his expectant family. He calls it his proudest accomplishment, at least as of that point. Hopefully he has a better one by today.
Congratulations poured on on Twitter from fans and friends. Meyers thanked everyone for their well wishes and congratulations on twitter this morning and confirmed that mom and baby are both doing great. He said, “I can also confirm that when you have a baby in New York you pretty much just sing “The Schuyler Sisters” for the first 12 hours, referring to a song from broadway hit, Hamilton. He added, “The “looking around” and “lucky to be alive” parts. NOT Burr being all skeevy. He’ll need to be far older for that stuff.”
Seth Meyers and Alexi were married in October 2013.
Thank you, everyone for the kind words! Mom and baby are doing great!!!
