Joan Rivers Hired Body Guards After Jerry Lewis Death Threat

Recently, Joan Rivers sat down with Ron Bennington at the SiriusXM studios in New York City in front of a live studio audience to tape an episode of Unmasked. Rivers talked with Bennington about her new book, her recent fight with Kristen Stewart and how emotional it was for her to return to the Carson Show after 27 years. She also addressed comments that comedian Jerry Lewis recently made about an age old fight between the two comedians.

Jeffrey Gurian is one of the most well known fixtures in the comedy world. You'll see him in clubs, at most comedy festivals, and at red carpets with a microphone in hand ready to interview his favorite comics. He's not a comedian (although he has performed stand up), and he doesn't work for a major television network. He isn't a super agent, or comedy club owner. Jeffrey isn't a 'power player' in the usual sense of the word. He hosts his interviews for his own self-produced YouTube Channel, Comedy Matters TV. So you might not expect him to be one of the most connected people in the world of comedy, and yet, he is.

Comedian James Adomian does stand up, sketch comedy, has a long list of cartoon voiceovers, and is a frequent guest on tv shows and podcasts like Comedy Bang Bang, the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Conan, and Children's Hospital. James does hilarious spot on impressions of unusual people which you can see in his popular Funny or Die videos. His first comedy album, "Low Hanging Fruit" came out 2012, and when he's not doing tv appearances, cartoon voices, and podcasts, he's busy as a fan favorite at festivals around the country. Our own Kelsey Bauman talked with Adomian tabout where his impressions come from, his feelings about Tom Leykis, and why winning over the audience matters to him.

He's a brilliant film director who makes movies that are so original they often fail to easily fit into familiar genre label. His newest film follows two people who go hunting for the mythical Bigfoot in the California backcountry, but its not like any horror movie you've seen before. Susie Essman: Jerry Lewis Never Was Funny

Comedian Susie Essman, who is best known for her role as Susie Greene on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, and comedy scenester Jeffrey Gurian stopped by the Ron and Fez Show last week to talk comedy. Susie had just come back from the Friar's Club, where they were interviewing her for a PBS documentary on the famous club. After reminiscing about some great Friar's Club moments, the subject of Jerry Lewis came up, and Essman revealed that she had been invited to a tribute to Jerry Lewis, but refused to go.

Favreau’s Back to the Indie World!

Jon Favreau at 47, has already had an incredible career as a screenwriter, and actor and a director. In 1996 he co-wrote and co-starred in the sleeper indie hit Swingers. Since then, he's been directing big box movies like Elf, Iron Man and Iron Man 2 and has had huge success. He's also undoubtably familiar with making choices that relate to creativity, safety, compromise, quality of life and personal growth-- all themes that arise in his new film, Chef. He recently stopped by the SiriusXM studios to sit down with Ron Bennington on The Ron and Fez Show, to talk about those themes, and what its like to be working on a small film again.

If you're part of generation MTV, then you remember Theo Von as a 19 year old kid on MTV's Road Rules. He's all grown up now, and hosting not one, but two popular shows. Von is currently hosting season two of TBS's hit game show "Deal With It Now" (executive produced by comedy icon Howie Mandel) and he also hosts "Prime Time in No Time" which they say is "the most watched show in the history of the internet" nightly.

As the Moontower Comedy and Oddity Festival winds down into its final night, we got to talk to a Moontower veteran, comedian Andy Kindler. It's only the third year of the Moontower festival, but since it's Kindler's third year at the festival, that counts. We were excited to get to talk with Kindler today about the festival, as well as the state of comedy, and the upcoming season of Last Comic Standing.
