Well, have no fear — because Kashmere is here with his finger on the pulse and his eyes on every Instagram account of anyone worth talking about. From Oscar winners to reality TV royalty, to even actually royalty; here are the craziest stories going on this week. Welcome to our newest series, “Did You Hear? With Kashmere!”

Kashmere (also known as Danny Murphy) is a comedian, writer, and pop culture connoisseur (despite not really knowing how to spell connoisseur). He currently writes for Betches and Marie Claire and has also been featured in Glamour, Seventeen and Town & Country. We’re back with another breakdown of everything I’ve seen, heard, and hated in the past few days. This Did You Hear? Is a DOOZY, because… so much has happened. And honestly all of it has directly affected my emotional state of being. From Taylor Swift to Bethenny Frankel, and also the idea I had about giving up carbs for the month of September, I’m fully off the deep end. Now let’s watch as we dive in. Is it okay if I still reference A Star Is Born? I fully plan on doing it until Lady Gaga EGOTS and then every day after that, so. Also — before we jump into this, if you’re in the mood (which I’m sure you are), head on over to my Instagram and shower my face masked-robe selfie with love, I ask for so little in life. 

You Can’t Handle the Truth — So You Need A Drink:

#BStrongMargarita. Wow, we’ll get into this new in the next section but I’m going to bring it up here because I’ve heard the best way to handle grief is to just say what’s happening over and over again as a form of processing that it’s real. I actually don’t think I’ve heard that anywhere, so if you’re struggling with something, don’t take that advice. Unless you already did and it changed your life — in which case, call me Oprah. 

 

The #BStrongMargarita is for anyone out there who is struggling with the news that Queen Bethenny Frankel is leaving the Real Housewives of New York. There are a ton of theories and reactions to why, but all we for sure know is that it’s happening and we need a drink to handle it. So this is basically just a margarita, but make it a double for yourself and then post a picture drinking it with some form of self-promotion. It’s what our B would want. 

Shocked to Not: 

Let’s rank the five most shocking (or not remotely surprising at all) stories from this past week. 

  1. Sofia Richie Turned 21 And I’m Over It Already | Sofira Richie is trying to give Nicole a run for her money in terms of making the most of their 20s. This weekend, the Lil Richie turned 21 even though I feel like I’ve seen her drinking champagne on a yacht for years now with Scott Discik. Not only did she get two cars (one less than the number of kids Disick has with Kourtney Kardashian, whose ages added together might be 21) but also had a full bash in Vegas. When I turned 21 I’m pretty sure I drank boxed wine while screaming along to Kesha on a juke box at a dive bar. I WIN, SOFIA. Check the pics and do the math on how much money they could have donated to the Amazon Rainforest in lieu of all the gifts and cake here. 
  2. Taylor Swift’s New Album Became Best Selling of the Year in One Day | HAPPY LOVER WEEK, EVERYBODY. If you are a Taylor Swift lover, what a time to be alive. But if you are a skeptic, can I just say that damn this is an album to try to #JumpThanFall into. The girl delivered, and on top of that — her album also delivered: over 450,000 deliveries, that is. That’s the number of the first day sales she made: 100,000 more than the previous record holder from the Jonas Brothers.   3. Ariana Grande Headlines Manchester Pride | Speaking of artists that are just everywhere, Ariana Grande made her way to Manchester during the European leg of her Sweetener Tour. This is especially meaningful after the heartbreaking tragedy from her Dangerous Woman concert in the city. Since then, she has made appearances back to the city and continues to honor the victims and Manchester in general. Read all about the performance here.  
  4.  Lori Loughlin’s Friends Are Icing Her Out | Aunt Becky is still in the hot seat over the college admissions scandal. Turns out not taking it seriously at the beginning wasn’t a good idea for her, because I completely forgot Felicity Huffman was even apart of it while Lori is still every other headline. While the media isn’t forgetting about Lori, her friends are. Apparently they don’t want to be too attached to her in case they could get investigated/get a bad reputation.   5.  BETHENNY FRANKEL LEFT REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW YORK | This… hit me hard. When I tell you I dropped the cup of coffee I was drinking at my desk when I read this news, I’m not exaggerating. After countless seasons, meme-able quotes, and breakdowns, Bethenny has moved on. She is in a new relationship, her daughter is getting older and she’s locked down a production deal for her own TV shows, so I’m sure she’ll be just fine… but still, WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO RHONY?! I mean, Lover by Taylor Swift has been truly all I have been listening to for the past 72+ hours (I’m a Girl, Uninterrupted) but I DID pause our country-pop queen to deep dive into Missy Elliott’s new EP, Iconography. And can I say? DELIVERS BEYOND THE POINT OF NO CONTROL. The music made her lose control in the best way possible. Plus, shout out to her even more for reminding all of these artists nowadays how to make a DAMN MUSIC VIDEO.
