There has been a story bouncing around social media this week about comedian Andy Erikson withdrawing from the SLO Comedy Fest (an annual comedy festival in San Luis Obispo). People drop out of comedy festivals all the time, but when it is a recent Last Comic Standing top three comedian, particularly one with the stage persona of unicorns and rainbows, people take notice.

Comedian Andy Erikson From Small Town Minnesota to Last Comic Standing Final Five

If you've been watching Last Comic Standing, then you already know Andy Erikson. She's in the final five, she's incredibly funny, and she stands out in any crowd. After her invitational round set, Roseanne joked about having a weird voice, and in the semi-finals her awkward stage exit was chosen as the #1 most awkward stage exist in this season's competition. Andy is fine with being called weird, but it's the great kind of weird. Quirky, unique, adorable, joyful, a tiny bit cartoon character like, and fun are other words you might use to describe her. And she loves unicorns.

Last Comic Standing Fast Forwards to the Final Five

If you watched Last Comic Standing last night, then like us you probably have a little comedy whiplash. Just when we were settling in, feeling safe, knowing none of our LCS Top Ten favorites were likely to be in jeopardy, we learned that this year, there would be no messing around with a final nine, final eight, final seven and so on. The show jumped straight from the top ten, to the top five this week, and next week a winner will be announced, making this the shortest LCS season yet.

Last night on NBC five more comedians were selected to join the Last Comic Standing Top Ten. Michael Palascak, Ian Bagg, Joe List, Ryan Conner and Dominique all impressed the judges enough to move on last night.
