Comedians Who Wanted to Rock, and Got Their Big Chance
5. Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) “Bonfire”
Okay, okay, okay. I know, there are a lot of people who will read this and either scowl at the fact that I included a rapper or shrug and say that they don’t know who Donald Glover is. It’s true. Glover’s career hasn’t been a very long one, but he’s most certainly got a taste for fucking comedy, and he’s been a huge success as a hip hop artist, too. So quit your bitching. He’s self-produced three or four albums and had his first studio release last year, which received rave reviews. If you’re not a fan of “ the rap”, Donald also played the role of Troy Barnes on NBC’s hit show Community. Hell, he even served as a writer on 30 Rock. If you ask me, that’s a damn good start to a career for any entertainer. For comparison, I’ve never released an album, can’t act to save my life, and I’ve had to just pretend that I can write for years now.
