Who is On Late Night Tonight in Comedy: Week of November 26, 2018

Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

As the year starts to wind down, so does our late night talk shows. Some of the hosts are starting to take time off this week including Jimmy Kimmel, along with the Late Late Show‘s James Corden who’s doing a half-week.

This week starts off with an animated special from the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It will be an all cartoon Late Show on the special that Stephen Colbert is calling “Stephen and Jon’s Cartoon Thanks-travaganza.” Expect to see a lot of the “Cartoon President.” We mean the animated “Cartoon President” on the Late Show, not the real life cartoon president currently living in the White House.

Tuesday night is one for fans of the old school “Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” First, there’ll be a reunion on the Late Show on CBS as former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart once again returns to visit his former correspondent Stephen Colbert. On Tuesday’s Late Show, Colbert will be flipping the script and taking a seat in the guest’s chair while his guests including Jon Stewart, sit behind Colbert’s desk to interview him. Other guests on Tuesday who will playing Late Show host include Neil deGrasse Tyson and CNN’s Jake Tapper. Meanwhile over at NBC, another successful alumni of the “Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” John Oliver will be sitting down as a guest on the Tonight Show.

On Wednesday night, if you’re looking for some holiday nostalgia, here’s a non-comedy highlight for you. The now grown up star of the Christmas classic “Home Alone” Macaulay Culkin will be on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. It should warm your heart to that the little boy once beloved by America is now a retired, nearly 40 year old chain smoker.

On Thursday, we’ve got plenty of stand up comedy in late night. Jourdain Fisher, who was one of the comedians named to the New Faces showcase at this year’s Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, will be making his national television comedy debut on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Jourdain was also once a finalist at the NBC Stand Up Showcase. Stephen Colbert has stand up as well on Thursday night’s Late Show. He’ll welcome one of our favorites, Emma Willmann, back to the Ed Sullivan Theater this week after a scheduling problem last week when she was originally listed to appear. A return to the Late Show is the perfect way for Emma to cap off a break-out year in comedy. In 2018 alone, she was part of the hit Netflix special, “The Comedy Lineup“, she had guest spots on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on the CW and the Pete Holmes HBO comedy “Crashing“, plus she co-hosts the popular podcast “Inside the Closet” with Matteo Lane which is available on iTunes.

And on Saturday, SNL is back live with new shows before the mid-season break starting this weekend with host Claire Foy. She’s had a phenomenal year in the movies with the films “First Man” starring Ryan Gosling and “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” which is the sequel to “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo“, the films based on the characters originally created by Stieg Larsson. Claire will be joined on Saturday Night Live by musical guest Anderson .Paak.

You’ve got a lot of late nights to look forward to. Enjoy.
