The Elliotts

The Elliott family legacy starts back in the mid 1940s when Bob Elliott teamed with Ray Goulding to form the hit radio program, The Bob and Ray Show. On major stations across the country, Bob and Ray continued their radio career for decades to come. Bob Elliott and his partner also had their own TV show. The two would even make it to Broadway. Their trademark style featured their characters, interviews they would do with each other and parodying popular culture with bits like creating fake soap operas. Bob Elliott’s son, Chris Elliott would launch his own comedy style and gain a fan base all his own. A regular on Late Night with David Letterman, Chris created a quirky and hysterical character that he translated into sketches like “The Regulator Guy”, The Fugitive Guy” and “The Guy Under The Stairs”. Chris would go on to become a member of SNL and star in the cult favorite film Cabin Boy as well as the TV series, Get a Life. Chris wasn’t the only member of the Elliott family to join the ranks of Saturday Night Live. His daughter, Abby Elliott was a cast member for 4 seasons on SNL – making her dad the only SNL cast member to father another one. Abby’s sister, Bridey also works as a comedian and was part of the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City.
