The holiday season is underway, and Jimmy Kimmel is kicking them off on Monday with the Jimmy Kimmel Live 4th annual (RED) Benefit Show on ABC. This has become a JKL holiday tradition. It’s a super show full of great guests and it features the (RED) Shopathon, highlighting many (RED) products and experiences from this year’s campaign. And it’s all to raise money and awareness for the fight against AIDS. This year’s incredible lineup includes Kimmel’s guests Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Kristen Bell, Channing Tatum, Snoop Dogg, Mila Kunis, Pharrell and the man who started the (RED) non-profit which has saved lives all over the world since its inception 12 years ago, U2 frontman Bono. To get a head start on the products and partners working with (RED) this season, go to RED.org.
On Tuesday, tune to Comedy Central for the season finale of The Jim Jefferies Show. America’s favorite Aussie is done for the rest of the year as he prepares for a major undertaking in his comedy career. It’s the Jim Jefferies “Night Talker Tour” of Asia. Jim will be touring all across the Eastern continent beginning on January 19, 2019.
Also on Tuesday, Seth Meyers imports stand up comedy for his show from Norway. Daniel Simonsen is a Norwegian comedian who is a regular at Edinburgh Festival Fringe and won the prestigious 2012 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winner for Best Newcomer. He’ll be performing on Late Night on Tuesday. Wednesday night, Seth keeps his international comedy theme going with Arjen Lubach, who is a Dutch comedian and hosts his own news satire show, “Zondag met Lubach.” Then on Thursday, it’s the annual Late Night with Seth Meyers Thanksgiving Show. It’s the one show a year where Seth Meyers brings in his family as guests. Joining Seth once again this year are his brother actor/comedian/writer Josh Meyers, and their parents Hilary & Larry Meyers.
Wednesday night, one of our favorite stand ups, Emma Willmann, returns to the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Emma is also one of the hardest working people in comedy and 2018 has been her year. She had a recurring role on “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on the CW, a top podcast, “Inside the Closet” with Matteo Lane, a guest spot on HBO’s “Crashing” and probably the sparkling highlight of her year, a spot on the Netflix stand up special, “The Comedy Lineup.” To learn more about Emma Willmann, be sure to check out her edition of our “Seven Selfies” series here on the Interrobang.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
