This week, researchers are reporting that whale counts are up! The lack of the type of fish that whales feed on may be one of the reasons numbers had been down in the past. Scientists track whale numbers through a tagging system. But we could have told you that whale numbers were up without tags based on these subtle, but definitive signs, that whale numbers are up.
