Actress Jane Russell was front and center in the poster for Howard Hughes 1943 film ‘The Outlaw’ which was already having trouble being made due to Russell’s breasts being put on display in nearly every shot of the film. Hughes had ministers and upset housewives protest the film and poster which turned out to be free marketing for the movie. We may be stealing the gold teeth out of the mouths of dead Japanese soldiers right now but dammit will you cover up that woman’s stems!
