There’s a brand new correspondent on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and it looks like  rest of the staff is already feeling the heat. Michael Che made his debut with his first Daily Show assignment.

Very few Daily Show reporters bring a resume like Che’s to the job – Appearances on Letterman, John Oliver’s New York Stand Up Show, @Midnight, writer for Saturday Night Live, a brand new Comedy Central Half Hour special and the very first comedian to do stand up on the new Late Night with Seth Meyers. Of course, the Daily Show staff is going to be keeping an eye on the new kid in town.

Che’s first correspondent assignment was no easy one either. Reporting live from Syria or what seemed to be a very war torn green screen projection of it. Che was built for fake news. His very first report left host Jon Stewart speechless. You can tell Stewart has finally found his golden child. As Che himself puts it “First day. Nailed it! Boom!…Murdered that shit!”.

That doesn’t mean that it’s going to be an easy ride free of professionally jealous. Fellow Daily Correspondent Aasif Mandvi interrupts letting the audience know he covers the Muslim beat. But Michael Che proves to Mandvi and Stewart that he’s worthy of a spot of the Daily Show, showing he can handle not only the reporting, but also the Daily Show’s high standards with lines like “President Farta Al-Asshole”.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart has always been a proving ground for the best fake new talent in the business and it looks like they have scored again with Michael Che.
