It’s Looking Like Michael Che Week on Comedy Central

Comedy Central is saying that Michael Che starts his new gig tonight as correspondent for the award winning show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. That’s right, “The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!” has a new name on its already impressive roster of Samantha Bee, Jordan Klepper, Jason Jones, Jessica Williams, Lewis Black, John Hodgman, Al Madrigal, Aasif Mandvi, Kristen Schaal and Larry Wilmore.

On twitter, Michael Che seemed to say that he wasn’t debuting on The Daily Show tonight, and no new word from Comedy Central, so that remains up in the air.  (Update:  Che did debut on the show, and in our opinion, is a perfect fit, watch it here).

But one thing is certain, and confirmed, you can watch Michael Che’s first stand up special, Friday night, June 6,  at 12:30am.  The thirty minute special airs this week as part of Comedy Central’s “Half Hour” stand up series. Che’s half hour airs immediately following Chris Distefano’s half hour special at midnight. (all times eastern)  Scroll down to see a behind the scenes look at Michael’s Comedy Central Half Hour Special.

Everyone here at The Interrobang are big fans of Michael Che. He is one of the funniest, and fastest rising comedians performing today. Last summer we featured him in our “Seven Comedians Ready to Blow Up” and since then, Michael has had nothing but success after success. He’s written for Saturday Night Live, was the first comedian asked to perform on Seth Meyer’s Late Night show in February of this year, and has been a favorite at festivals across the country. In 2013, Rolling Stone named Che one of the 50 Funniest People, Variety named him one of their 10 Comics to watch, and the New York Times loves him too.

Now you can watch him regularly on the smartest comedy show, and funniest news show on tv, The Daily Show, and keep an eye on his career. You’ll find him @CheThinks on twitter and michaelche.com.
