Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig Secret Lifetime Movie Is Off
As Tom Hanks so famously said, “Stupid Internet”. After the news that Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were making a secret movie for the Lifetime network was leaked online, the two stars have said the project is completely off. The plan was for Ferrell and Wiig to make a film that parodied the kind of films that Lifetime has become known for. The TV movie was an emotional thriller called “A Deadly Adoption”. The plot involved Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig as a couple who bring a surrogate who’s carrying their baby into their home and things go wrong from there.
Will Ferrell talked about his frustration over calling off the project to Entertainment Weekly. He said, “We are deeply disappointed that our planned top secret project was made public. Kristen and I have decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film.”
Even though Ferrell and Wiig have decided to shelve the movie that doesn’t mean that Lifetime will. It’s been reported that the Made-For-TV film has already been shot and it will ultimately be up to the network on if it airs or not.
