Harry Shearer Simpsons Hold Out!?
Earlier this month, FOX announced that they were renewing The Simpsons for another two seasons which will bring the total number of season up to 28. But according to TMZ, Harry Shearer is still holding out from signing on to the next Simpsons contract. Series creator Matt Groening told TMZ that everyone’s on board, despite that since the last contract renewal, cast members reportedly took a 30% pay cut to $300,000 an episode. But TMS has sources saying Shearer hasn’t signed on just yet. A Simpsonsverse without Harry would mean having to replace him or say goodbye to ten major characters and dozens more minor players including Ned Flanders, Seymour Skinner, Waylon Smithers, Marvin Monroe, Ranier Wolfcastle, Mr. Burns, Reverend Lovejoy, Dr. Hibbert, Kent Brockman, Lenny Leonard (not Lenny!), and more.
Harry apparently still has issues about back end and merchandising numbers with Fox, which is important because we all know how popular Mr. Burns t-shirt’s are in 2015.
