This week kicks off with Columbus Day, so of course the majority of our New York based talk shows are taking the entire week off. Jimmy Kimmel, a well-know West Coaster, will have all new shows this week as will the Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Lights Out with David Spade.
Let’s get to some highlights this week, both new and in repeats.
On Monday, Brad Williams joins David Spade on Lights Out on Comedy Central. Brad is quickly becoming one of the most popular panel comedians in the country and he’s already enjoying an amazing stand up career. Brad will be joining Spade’s other guests to tear down the sacred cows of popular culture. And usually the word “cow” gets used on Spade’s show. In repeats, you can see Christian Finnegan’s stand up set on a rerun of the Late Late Show and on Conan, Team Coco is re-airing the episode with special guest Nikki Glaser. Her new comedy special which is getting rave reviews “Nikki Glaser: Bangin’” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
Speaking of repeat stand up performances, on Tuesday, Jena Friedman will be performing on an encore presentation of Conan on TBS at 11pm which is totally worth catching a second time. According to her Twitter, @JenaFriedman, she is currently on touring with her show, “Jena Friedman: Miscarriage of Justice.”
Wednesday night, Trevor Noah hosts one of funniest people on the planet when Ali Wong stops by the Daily Show. Ali will be promoting her new book, “Dear Girls: Intimate Tales, Untold Secrets, & Advice for Living Your Best Life” which is available everywhere on Tuesday, October 15th.
In Wednesday repeats, there’s some great comedy reruns scheduled. Dane Cook appears on a Tonight Show repeat, Whoopi Goldberg is on a second-airing of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and John Goodman will be a guest on a rerun of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Looking at Thursday, David Spade has put together a near-perfect panel for Lights Out on Comedy Central. Spade welcomes Guy Branum, Dusty Slay and Vanessa Bayer. Three different comedians with three very different styles. Expect three very different takes when David Spade brings up the entertainment and reality show news of the day.
This weekend on Saturday Night Live, SNL is already back to repeats after just three new episodes this fall season. Saturday Night Live will be re-airing the season premiere with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Billie Eilish. SNL will return live one week from Saturday on October 26th with host and musical guest Chance the Rapper pulling double duty.
With a week full of reruns, it’s nice to know it’s never too late to catch your favorite late night shows, again.
