Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

This week, we get a Tonight Show debut, Tuesday is for the Colins, and Akeem & Semmi are coming 2 late night.

We’ve got so much comedy booked in late night this week, it’s hard to believe one week can hold it all. All of our late night hosts are on the job with new shows this week and there are plenty of funny guests scheduled. So always be sure to check the full comedy listings below.

Monday night is one of those nights that a comedian will never forget. Congratulations to Kenice Mobley who is making her national comedy debut on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Kenice is well known at comedy festivals around the country and she was a finalist on StandUp NBC. It will be exciting to watch her on Monday night.

Also on Monday, watch for Wanda Sykes on Conan on TBS. Also, the fabulous Bob the Drag Queen is making a very late night appearance on A Little Late with Lilly Singh. And the comedy team of Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo who you know from their work together in “Bridesmaids“, will be on the Late Late Show with James Corden to talk about their new comedy movie available On Demand, “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar.”

Tuesday night is “Colin Night” in late night. First up, Conan O’Brien plays host to one of his favorite guests (and ours too), Colin Quinn. The master comedian, author, actor and producer will be on Conan to talk his appearance in “Patrice O’Neal: Killing Is Easy“, the new Comedy Central documentary. Be sure to read more on the IBang about the first ever comedy-doc on the life and career of the incomparable Patrice O’Neal. It’s available now on the CC App and On Demand.

Later on Tuesday night, you can catch one of comedy’s other popular Colins, Colin Jost, on Late Night with Seth Meyers. The SNL head writer and Weekend Update anchor will be on Late Night to discuss his new kids comedy, “Tom and Jerry.” The movie is a mixture of animation and live action with Colin Jost being part of the live action portion of the film. “Tom and Jerry” starring Colin Jost, along with one of America’s favorite cat and mouse acts, will be in select theaters and on HBO Max on Friday, February 26th.

Wednesday begins the late night promotion for the long awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 comedy “Coming to America.” The sequel “Coming 2 America” will be available on March 5th, exclusively on Amazon Prime. Arsenio Hall who co-stars in the film as Semmi, (among other characters) the loyal friend and aide to Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) will be on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday night to promote the new comedy which is arriving 33 years after the original. It’s also a return to late night for Arsenio Hall who hosted his own late night show in the early 90’s and then again for a year in 2013.

Then on Thursday evening, it’s Jimmy Fallon who lands the big comedy get with Eddie Murphy virtually visiting the Tonight Show to promote “Coming 2 America.” The Oscar nominated comedian will play nearly a dozen different characters in the “Coming 2 America” sequel. The cast includes stars from the original 1988 comedy including James Earl Jones, John Amos and the great Louie Anderson. Plus, the sequel adds former SNL comedian Leslie Jones to the cast.

And to keep tying things together, while Eddie Murphy is on the Tonight Show on Thursday night, the guy who was in one of show business’ longest running feuds with Murphy, will be on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday evening as well. David Spade, who is credited with pissing off Eddie Murphy so badly that he wouldn’t return to SNL for 35 years, will be talking to Seth Meyers on Thursday night. Good thing these interviews are done virtually now or else it might be uncomfortable in the NBC hallways on Thursday.

Looking at the weekend, Bill Maher is back from a quick break and will have a new episode of Real Time ready to go live on HBO on Friday night. And on Saturday, we get another new Saturday Night Live to finish out the month of February. It’s first-time host Nick Jonas who is pulling SNL double-duty on Saturday as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live. And everyone thought it would be Joe Jonas who was going to be the breakout star from the family. Please.

That’s a lot of comedy this week. Don’t over do it. Maybe start out giggling and work your way up to laughing. That way you don’t pull anything.
