Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

This week, it’s comedians in Super Bowl commercials making cash, the Jokers are back and SNL is up a creek.

Super Bowl LV (55, for those of you who don’t do match in Roman) is this coming Sunday. And if there’s anyone more excited than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the first NFL team to play the Super Bowl in their own home stadium, or the Kansas City Chiefs going for their second straight ring, it’s the comedians who will be appearing in the Super Bowl commercials that night.

A few of those comedians are booked in late night this week to talk about their latest advertising projects which is hocking goods and services during the big game. On Wednesday, the hilarious Amy Schumer will be on Late Night with Seth Meyers to talk about her Super Bowl ad for Hellmann’s Mayonnaise. She be promoting ideas on what do with your leftovers and all those ideas involve mayo and lots of it.

Also appearing in late night this week, it’s Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. The former SNL cast mates will be on the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday to discuss their return to their “Wayne’s World” alter-egos, Wayne and Garth, for a Super Bowl commercial this coming Sunday. Wayne and Garth will be doing a Super Bowl spot for Uber Eats this weekend. Just proving that everything old is…. still pretty old. Party on!

Other comedy highlights in late night this week include Mike Birbiglia on Conan on Tuesday night. He’ll be talking about the upcoming St. Valentine’s Day editions of his virtual “Work It Out Worldwide” shows at his “Nowhere Comedy Club.” And on Wednesday, look for Jenny Slate on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC and Kal Penn on the Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS.

Thursday is a big night for comedy in late night. The fabulously funny Tiffany Haddish will be on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday evening. Tiffany and her real life boyfriend Common just lit social media on fire with a very steamy edition of the Silhouette Challenge on TikTok, so hopefully Tiffany will be dishing on that. “She ready.”

Then later that night, the Impractical Jokers, otherwise known as the Tenderloins comedy troupe, Joe Gatto, James Murray, Sal Vulcano, and Brian Quinn, will all be on Late Night with Seth Meyers. They’re promoting the 9th season premiere of their show where four lifelong best friends terrorize and humiliate each other with pranks. The season premiere of “Impractical Jokers” happens Thursday, February 4th at 10pm on truTV. Add all that to Mike Myers and Dana Carvey on Fallon on Thursday and it’s quite a busy and funny night of comedy on your television machine.

Finally, we get to the weekend and a new episode of Saturday Night Live. This Saturday, SNL stars a first-time host. It’s Dan Levy, who with his father the great Eugene Levy, created this hit comedy series “Schitt’s Creek.” This past year, “Schitt’s Creek” swept the Primetime Emmy Awards, winning trophies in every comedy category it was nominated for that night. That included a Best Supporting Actor Emmy Award for Dan Levy as well as writing and directing Emmys for Dan too.

Enjoy your week. Good luck with your Super Bowl wagers. And….Go Bucs!
