Who is Hosting Saturday Night Live Tonight: April 7, 2018

is back live tonight and hosted by the biggest box office star of 2018, Marvel’s Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman!

Besides being the creator of the most successful and longest running sketch comedy variety series on television, SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels has another amazing talent. He has a way of getting the biggest actors, athletes, comedians and celebrities to come to Studio 8-H and put on wacky wigs and make-up and risk everything to do the terrifyingly exciting job of hosting Saturday Night Live. Tonight at 11:30pm on NBC, Lorne has done it again by having Chadwick Boseman host SNL for his very first time.

Right now, there is no movie star hotter than Chadwick Boseman. He stars in the Marvel Studios blockbuster film “Black Panther” as the title superhero who is also the king of the hidden-away African country of Wakanda. The comic book movie has already taken in $656,925,740 since it opened in mid-February. To give some perspective, the movie closest to “Black Panther” in box office receipts this year is the cartoon, “Peter Rabbit” which has made just over $112 million dollars. “Black Panther” is not only the biggest film performer of 2018, it’s already in the Top 5 of the all-time movie box office hits.

So, there’s very little wonder why Saturday Night Live would want Chadwick Boseman as a first-time host. He will be the 9th first-time host this season. Chadwick joins other first-time hosts during SNL – Season 43 including Gal Gadot, who had the biggest comic book movie of 2017 with “Wonder Woman“, Sterling K. Brown who is currently the most award winning actor on television and Tiffany Haddish, the hottest comedian working right now and the first African-American female comedian to ever host SNL. That’s to name just a few of the Saturday Night Live newbies this season.

At some point tonight, SNL will change to “Live from Wakanda…it’s Saturday Night!“. Without a doubt, “Black Panther” is sure to be parodied in one way or another on tonight’s SNL. Other things that may find their way into sketches or on Weekend Update this evening include the current Twitter feud between ABCs and Fox News’ Sean Hannity, NBC’s live musical “Jesus Christ Superstar“, and “” returning to network television to monster ratings. And as usual, there’s plenty of President Donald Trump material in the news this week to play with, including the ongoing porn star saga starring Stormy Daniels, more Cabinet chaos, Trump again chickening out of going to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, trade wars, the stock market plummeting, and of course, Trump’s own fake news story- Amazon is ripping off the U.S. Postal Service.

In the first of the promos for tonight’s new Saturday Night Live, cast members Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat and Kenan Thompson hope to score some Vibranium, the powerful and very fictional metal from the movie “Black Panther” from host Chadwick Boseman. In the next set, Chadwick is joined by musical guest Cardi B and cast member Leslie Jones who has no problem at all giving direction to the Black Panther.

An all new Saturday Night Live hosted by Chadwick Boseman with musical guest Cardi B starts tonight at 11:30pm and is live across all American time zones on NBC.
