TV Land Pulls “Cosby Show” Reruns

The Cosby bad news seems to be coming in faster all the time. The backlash against Bill Cosby is not only affecting his current work, but also his past TV. The Hollywood Reporter says that TVLand is pulling all airings of “The Cosby Show” effective immediately. The channel known for classic television shows had planned on Thanksgiving and Christmas marathons of Bill Cosby’s hit series from the 80s and early 90s.
Sexual assault allegations against Cosby, which have been around for decades, resurfaced with a vengeance after Hannibal Buress made the Cosby rape accusations part of his act last month. (See our article on The Power of Comedy)
Just this week alone, Netflix has permanently postponed Bill Cosby’s new comedy special, “Cosby 77” and NBC quickly got out of the Cosby business by cancelling plans for a new sitcom starring the comedian.
