Tig Notaro Hospitalized
The New York Times is reporting that comedian and breast cancer survivor Tig Notaro has been hospitalized for an undisclosed medical emergency and as a result has had to cancel dates in Denver and Boston.
Notaro also made headlines late last week during the New York Comedy Festival, when she headlined Town Hall as part of her “Boyish Girl Interrupted” tour. And she performed most of the show topless, showing the audiences her double mastectomy. Notaro was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and underwent a double mastectomy choosing not to get breast reconstruction.
According to the New Yorker, Tig said about the performance, “You know, it’s funny. I was going to do this show with my shirt off, anyway. I’m about one more ‘Whooo’ away from going topless.” Then she ripped her shirt open, Superman-like, and she was topless.
