Monday night Lisa Lampanelli appeared at the infamous 92nd Street Y in conversation with radio host Ron Bennington, to promote her new special, Back to the Drawing Board. It was an important and meaningful night for Lisa, not only because of the history of incredible speakers who have sat down in conversation at the 92Y, but also because it was her first time speaking frankly, in front of a live audience about everything that's happened in the past two years.

Paul Feig Can’t Understand Why Adults Want to Be Kids

Paul Feig wrote and directed the biggest comedy of the summer so far-- "Spy" starring Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham. Last week Feig stopped by the SiriusXM studios to sit down with Ron Bennington and Gail Bennington to talk about the movie. Feig talked about some of the reasons his films succeed where others fail, stressing the importance of trusting your performers, using logic in physical comedy, and guarding tone. He also discussed why chick flicks fail, the return of strong women to the silver screen, and addressed the question of why so many adults want to "grow down" instead of act like grown ups. Feig can't understand the desire for adults to act like kids. In fact, he said, he can't remember a time when he didn't want to be an adult.

Earlier this week Paul Feig stopped by SiriusXM's "Bennington" to talk with Ron Bennington and Gail Bennington about his new movie "Spy" which hits theaters this Friday. Feig talked about working with Melissa McCartney and why they have such a great working actor-director partnership, the return of strong women to the big screen, and why "chick flicks" aren't good movies (and why his movies aren't "chick flicks"). Lisa Lampanelli has undergone a real transformation. In the past two years, she has not only changed her physical appearance, shedding more than 107 pounds and cutting her hair short, but she's also changed her entire way of thinking, living and performing. She ended an unhappy marriage, and has gone from the "queen of mean" to wanting to focus on service, happiness and gratitude. Pollak was in promoting his new movie Misery Loves Comedy. This year is the first official year that Red Nose Day is being celebrated in the United States.
