The Very Best of 2014 on The IBang

It's been a tremendous year of change for all of us. At the end of our first year devoted full time to comedy, we wanted to thank everyone who has helped the site grow. The contributors, the developers, the writers, readers and commenters, and everyone who helps us out by retweeting, posting on other sites and boards, we can't thank you enough. We have big plans for 2015 to continue and grow and hope you'll all stick around.

Any time you try to make a list of the "top" anything, it's always a little bit subjective, due to the point of view of the writer. With the understanding that it's not an exact science, and really just an opinion, I will give you my top 15 comedy events list of 2014, of all the events that I covered during the year. Some of the events I was involved with in some way, but most of them not! I tried to be as impartial as I could.

Stephen Colbert’s Reluctant @midnight Appearance

You can't call it a run-in because he didn't move. You can't really call it a cameo because he never left his own set. But Stephen Colbert did visit @midnight on Comedy Central. The late night internet driven game show was taping in NYC as part of the New York Comedy Festival and while host Chris Hardwick was in town, he wanted Stephen Colbert as a special guest to introduce @midnight's #Hashtag Wars segment.

Artie Lange Says He Was Pulled Off @Midnight Tonight Over Tweets

Comedian Artie Lange was scheduled to be a guest on Comedy Central's @midnight show tonight, which is taping IN New York City as part of the New York Comedy Festival. But you won't be seeing him when you tune in because Comedy Central pulled him from the show at the last minute, after a controversy erupted today over some tweets he sent out that the New York Post has called "vile and racist."
