New Maria Bamford Out September 24

The always-funny Maria Bamford has a new digital-only album coming out with Comedy Central Records, it was announced today. Called 20%, Bamford’s seventh album presents the comic in a new phase of her life. Filmed at Los Angeles’ UCB Franklin, the special features Bamford discussing her new life as a married woman, her continued struggle with bi-polar disorder, and her life post-mental breakdown a few years back.
These struggles aren’t likely new to some, as they’ve been the plot of Bamford’s current project with Netflix, the critically acclaimed, semi-autobiographical show Lady Dynamite. But, according to an interview with People Magazine a few months back, Bamford is in a new and better place in her life now. Bamford is a clever, animated and brilliant comedian, and the fact that she’s at her happiest and most stable has already reflected in her work. She’ still able to joke about the dark moments in her life, but now she’s able to enjoy herself a little more while doing so.
This is Bamford’s third album with Comedy Central Records, following Ask Me About My New God! and Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome. Bamford has been seen and heard on the small screen for years now; She starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn in the hit Comedy Central tour documentary The Comedians of Comedy, in the Netflix reboot of Arrested Development, and provided her voice to animated features like BoJack Horseman, Adventure Time, Ugly Americans, Legends of Korra and Hey Arnold!.
20% is set to release online on Friday, September 24th as a Comedy Central Digital Release. It can be found on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon MP3, Google Play and all other streaming and download services.
