The New York City lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is one of the biggest events in New York City and it always draws a gigantic crowd no matter how cold. Even if it rains or snows, people pack shoulder to shoulder for blocks to be a part of the event which includes musical performances from big celebs in addition to the actual tree lighting.
