Last week, in one of the most horrifying ‘weird’ stories of the year, it was reported that a 9 lb hairball was removed from the stomach of an 18 year old girl in Kyrgyzsta. This is not a typo. The Huffington Post reported that her stomach was so badly swollen from hair and bits of wool from the carpet that it literally just oozed out as soon as the wall of the stomach was cut. It was a rough operation, and the conversation in the OR was as strange as the procedure itself.
