Massive ‘Just For Laughs’ Lineup Announced Featuring Seinfeld, Gad, Segura, Wong

It’s May, which means we’re only a little over two months away from the Holy Grail of Comedy Festivals, the Mecca of Laughter, The Muscles from Brussels: Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival. Taking place from July 12th — July 31st, the festival is by far North America’s (and really, the world’s) biggest comedy festival. With a reputation like that, it’s easy to land some of comedy’s biggest names, and this year’s event is no exception. The folks at JFL have just announced a huge chunk of performers who will be heading to Montreal this summer and well, it’s full of comedy giants.

Keep in mind, this isn’t even a complete list of performers, so be sure to head over to JFL’s website and check out all of the acts that the festival will have to offer. Pre-sale tickets are available now, and will become available to the general public on Friday, May 5th at 10 a.m.

Stand-up Shows:

Jerry Seinfeld and Gad Elmaleh will be co-headlining what will easily be the biggest performance of the festival. The two superstar comics will share the stage of the Bell Centre on Wednesday, July 26th at 8 p.m, marking Seinfeld’s first return to the JFL stage since 1989.

Trevor Noah of The Daily Show will be performing two stand-up shows, one at 7 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m., on Friday, July 28th at Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts. He’ll also be hosting In Conversation with Trevor Noah, a candid discussion of his life and experiences, taking place at noon on Saturday, July 29th at the Grand Salon Opera, Level 4, Hyatt Regency Montreal.

Ali Wong, known for her hit Netflix special Baby Cobra and as a writer on Fresh Off the Boat, will be performing stand-up on Thursday, July 27th at 7 p.m. at Maison Symphonique at Place des Arts.

Tom Segura, of Your Mom’s House Podcast and Netflix’s Mostly Stories and Completely Normal fame, will be bringing his No Teeth, No Entry tour to L’Olympia on Wednesday, July 26th at 7 p.m.

John Mulaney, one half of the hit Broadway show Oh, Hello (alongside Nick Kroll) and star of the Netflix special The Comeback Kid, will be bring his John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous tour to L’Olympia on Saturday, July 29th at 7 p.m.

Chris D’Elia, known for his roles on shows like NBC’s Undateable and Comedy Central’s Workaholics, is set to perform stand-up at L’Olympia on Thursday, July 27th at 9:30 p.m.

The Nasty Show, one of the biggest staples of JFL, returns with a killer lineup of uncensored, hard-hitting comics like Robert Kelly, Big Jay Oakerson, Godfrey and Jimmy Carr. There will be a series of shows taking place from Wednesday, July 19th — Friday, July 28th at Metropolis.

The Jack Astor’s Club Series, which offers up solo and showcase stand-up shows in a more intimate club setting, is back with a slate of great performers set to take the stage. On Friday, July 28th and Saturday, July 29th, host of SiriusXM’s Jim and Sam and star of the recent Netflix special Mouthful of Shame, Jim Norton will be performing his new hour, Far from Delightful, at Gesù.

The All Access Live program returns with four nights of hilarity, each featuring a different host and lineup. The hosts for the shows, taking place at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. between Wednesday, July 26th and Saturday, July 29th, are Mike Birbiglia, Moshe Kasher and Natasha Leggero, with the final host to be announced.

The Ethnic Show, hosted by Iranian-American comic Maz Jobrani, will take place from Wednesday, July 12th — Thursday, July 27th at Club Soda and Metropolis. This diverse show will feature a wide range of comics including Jessica Kirson, Steve Byrne, John Catucci & David Mesiano as The Doo Wops, Mike Rita, and Vlad Caamaño.

Gina Yashere will host Brit(ish), a series of all-Brit stand-up performances featuring Aisling Bea, Joe Lycett, James Acaster, Seann Walsh, and special guest Sarah Millican. Shows will take place Wednesday, July 26 at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 27 at 9:30 pm, and Friday, July 28 at 7 p.m., at L’Astral.

Homegrown Comics, hosted by Canuck comic Mark Critch, will showcase some of the best Canadian comics on the scene, and will feature special guest K. Trevor Wilson, co-star of the hit Canadian comedy Letterkenny.

Live Podcast Recordings and Roundtable Discussions:

The Fighter & The Kid Live: Bryan Callen and Brendan Schaub will perform their wide-ranging hit podcast live. This one supposedly won’t be recorded, so be sure to show up on time!

Offerings from the HeadGum podcast network: Jake Hurwitz and Amir Blumenfeld’s popular If I Were You advice podcast will be recorded live on Tuesday, July 25th at 9:30 p.m. at Maison Théâtre. There will also be three other podcasts from the duo’s own podcast network in attendance: High and Mighty with Jon Gabrus, Twinnovation with Jeff Rosenberg, Dave Rosenberg and Mike Karnell, and Black Men Can’t Jump with Jerah Milligan, Jon Braylock and James III, all on Wednesday, July 26th at Maison Théâtre.

HBO Presents Vice Principals Live: The cast of HBO’s Vice Principals will sit down for a discussion of their dark comedy and give some insights into the upcoming second season. Sitting at the table will be Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Walton Goggins, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Georgia King and Edi Patterson. This will take place on Friday, July 28th at 1 p.m. at Grand Salon Opera, Level 4, Hyatt Regency Montreal.

CNN Presents The History of Comedy: The network will screen an episode of their History of Comedy series titled Spark of Madness, covering the common thread of substance abuse and mental illness among comics. Afterwards, W. Kamau Bell will be joined by Kliph Nesteroff, Mark Herzog and Todd Milliner for a panel discussion.

Gala Events:

Sugar Sammy’s International Gala: The homegrown comic will host a showcase of international comics, each a star in their own country, for an unprecedented evening of cross-cultural comedy. Taking place on Friday, July 28th at 9:45 p.m. at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts.

The David Spade Gala: David Spade, of Saturday Night Live, Tommy Boy and Joe Dirt fame, will host a gala featuring an as-yet-unannounced lineup of comics and special guests, taking place on Wednesday July 26 at 7 p.m. at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts.

The Howie Mandel Gala: For the third year in a row, TV personality and Canadian treasure Howie Mandel will host a jam-packed gala of ultra-talented comics and big guests, which will all be taped for a 90-minute special to be aired on the CW Network. The gala will take place on Saturday, July 29 at 6:30 pm at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts.
