Lowlife and Lost Soul Team Up for Triple Header Late Night Monologue

No late night wars in 2018, everyone’s getting along.

Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert were both targeted (along with Jimmy Kimmel) by President Trump Monday night. Trump took shots at the three network late night hosts calling them untalented, referring to CBS’s Late Show host Stephen Colbert as a lowlife, and Jimmy Fallon as a lost soul. He even did an unflattering impression of the Tonight Show host to drive home his point.

Tonight two of those hosts- Fallon and Colbert- teamed up with a special cold open to two late night shows. They were joined by Conan O’Brien to laugh at the Presidential criticism of late night talk.  The unprecedented open aired on both The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert beginning with Colbert at his desk typing up some monologue jokes, when suddenly he gets a video call from Jimmy Fallon. “Hey lowlife!” Fallon says, to which Colbert replies, “Hey lost soul! What are you up to?” Fallon says he’s whimpering, Colbert tells him to be a man, and it goes on from there.

Kimmel didn’t participate in the bit, but they brought in Conan to the call, telling him they’re talking about Trump. “Donald Trump? The real estate guy who sells steaks? He’s president?! Wow! How’s he doing?” Conan says. “And, remember, please be civil,” Conan says. “If we’re not civil, this thing could start to get ugly.”
