RIP Fez. I will miss you so much. Thank you for the laughs and for always being so friendly and sweet anytime I was ever lucky enough to see you. My condolences to The Bennington family and to the family and friends of Fez. The world is a lot less funny without him

I used to listen to Ron & Fez RELIGIOUSLY in high school. I still listen to a bunch of audio clips from the WNEW days. They were seriously the main reason why I got into radio. This is heartbreaking. Fucking speechless. Just tears. RIP Fez Whatley. https://t.co/H5nePqaxiP

When he was on his game, NOBODY was funnier than Fez Whatley. He was snarky, biting, fearless, fun to tease and so easy to root for. Whether it’s realized or not, you can’t help but hear the influence of Ron and Fez on the current comedy podcasts. RIP Fez Whatley.
— Trashe (@Trashe) August 14, 2021
Goddamn I wish this was a work.
— Stimothy Leary (@GentlemanTurkey) August 14, 2021
Damn, 2002-2006 all I did was listen to O&A and Ron and Fez. Ron and Fez had one thing very special about it. You never knew if something was a bit, and Fez was the best at making you believe and wonder. My sincerest condolences to everyone that Fez Whatley meant something to. https://t.co/tb8xuOH4ed

Fez was the funniest man on the radio without actually speaking on the radio for years. That is genius.
— Aaron (@AaronNagy9) August 14, 2021
Oh man, what a sad day. The Ron and Fez show was such a staple of my afternoons for so many years. Fezzie truly was one of a kind and a legend in the radio business.

My kids only know Ron and Fez and Gail Ann as Uncle Ronnie, Uncle Fez, and Auntie GailAnn. My 17 year old broke the news to us an hour ago. Entire family is devastated for our loss, but mostly for yours @BenningtonShow @GailAaann and Pepper Hicks. Many hugs and love to you all.

#RIP to the one & only #fezwhatley, aka Todd Hiller. I listened to Ron and Fez's show almost every day for 15 yrs starting w their very first show in NY in 2000. I remember Fez came out to a wrestling match in the back lot of a Sam’s Club in Saint Petersburg probably around 1990. He was hilarious, so sad to see him go.
— Ralph Mason (@RalphMason5) August 15, 2021
@BenningtonShow @GailAaann thoughts and Catholic prayers to y’all for the loss of Fez. I wish I could find the words to say how all of you felt like family over the years. I used to time all my appointments so I’d never miss the ichiban. 1000s of miles and you were there. RIP

Awful news…Fez was such a nice guy…one of my favorite moments was Fez coming out as the Nature Boy at Celebrity Boxing back in the day, the whole crowd WOOOO-ing with him the whole time…say hi to Bobo for us, pal…#RIPFez #FezWhatley https://t.co/R3anKC1FSn

So, so very sorry to hear this. I have listened daily to Ron&Fez and Ron&Gail for many, many years. This is crushing news. Thinking of the Bennington family.
— Joni with an i (@AZtoCO) August 14, 2021
Thing about Fez was his commitment to entertaining.
Like, to this day, we don't know: Was "Fez" a bit? Was there a Todd? Was he really gay? Was he really anxious? How many of the heart things were a work?
With Fez, it was ALL kayfabe and it was ALL a shoot. @BenningtonShow
— Dan (@TractorLaw) August 14, 2021
Fuckin nooooo
Rest easy Fez Whatley, the funniest guy on the radio.
His show with his buddy Ron got me through college and some shitty jobs… lots of late night drives…. for so many years….
I got to tell him thanks once. He was wearing a cupcake costume. #fezwhatley
— Capt. Trippie (@sthipp) August 14, 2021
Just saw the news that Fez Whatley passed. One of the most fun memories I have was when Ron & Fez were on late nights on WNEW, and I went in with other musicians to be in the Silver Strings Submarine band.
Sad days.
— BryanExMachina (@BryanExMachina) August 14, 2021
Oh no! I’m so sorry Ronnie B, Earl, Gail, and the whole team. Fez was hilarious, sweet and brought so much laughter to so many people. He will be sorely missed. His Ric Flair was the stuff of legend- among so many other things!
— John Fitzpatrick (@johnnyfitz24) August 14, 2021
@BenningtonShow I am crestfallen. 🥺🥺😢. As a preteen living in Savannah, GA, Ron & Ron were like a breath of fresh comedy air, ably assisted by Fez’s always killer timing. Met him at the airport there and at a live event, St. Patty’s Day. A great guy gone far too soon. 🥺😭

@BenningtonShow My Fez story: one day the bit was about the Watley posse taking over. I called in and said I was the general from Iowa. Fez called me back and asked for my address so he could send me a Watley posse T-shirt. I loved him so much.

Rest in peace, Fez Marie Whatley. I live in Baltimore, but I've been a fan of his going back 2 the Ron & Ron Show. I used to IM with him about pro wrestling all the time. Fez was funny. Rest in peace, Fez Whatley. When I started working in NYC, I came across an odd radio show called Ron & Fez Dot Com on WNEW. I would listen at my desk. I could not turn it off. It lead to new ideas and friends. Fez's anxiety issues became a learning guide. Forever grateful. https://t.co/Ol4o0G8jbQ

Even when Fezzy was down, he was still at the top of his game…His show imitating BL, His rainbow moustache, The Cakehorn Incident, Blueberries aren't a standalone fruit…when he'd read the news and Ronnie kept playing the Yahoo theme over it…Gold. Be at peace, Big Cat.
— J P (@pgfd398) August 14, 2021
#fezwhatley was a special talent. The commitment to long term radio bits was purely genius. Ron & Fez had incredible chemistry and it was a privilege to sometimes sit in the studio and just observe greatness. Rest easy Fezzy!
