This week, we’re still not at a full crew when it comes to our late night hosts. Everyone is still straggling back in from vacation, but we’re at almost 100% with all three of the network 11:30pm hosts back behind their desks, along with Seth Meyers, the Daily Show and Jim Jefferies all bringing us new episodes.
We’re thrilled that Jimmy Fallon is back with new shows this week because on Monday, one of our favorite comedians makes his return to the Tonight Show. Mark Normand will be performing Monday night. You know Mark from his podcast “Tuesdays with Stories” co-hosted by Joe List, also from having one of the funniest feeds on Twitter (@marknorm) and his appearances on SiriusXM including the “Bennington” show, “The Bonfire” and “Jim and Sam.”
The other big news this week in late night is that Conan returns on Wednesday to host four new shows from Comic Con – San Diego. Team Coco has the casts of three upcoming blockbuster movies and one beloved television show sitting down with Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter on Wednesday and Thursday and then on Saturday and Sunday.
Starting Wednesday, Conan celebrates the 10th anniversary of “Breaking Bad,” with the cast from the groundbreaking AMC show. Thursday, Conan welcomes the cast of the reboot of “The Predator” including Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn and Sterling K. Brown. On Saturday, the cast and director of “Glass“, the long awaited follow-up to M. Night Shyamalan’s “Unbreakable” joins Conan and then that’s followed on Sunday with Conan’s conversation with the cast and director of DC Comics’ and Warner Bros’ “Aquaman.” The real one, not the one starring Vince Chase.
On Tuesday, watch for Nimesh Patel performing on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Nimesh is a great NYC comedian and writer who was just nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award as part of the nominated writing staff for Saturday Night Live which is up for the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series Emmy award. Nimesh has also written for the Oscars and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, so the odds are that you’ve heard Nimesh Patel’s jokes, but now’s your chance to hear him actually tell them.
Thursday will be filled with late night laughs from cagey comedy veteran Jim Gaffigan on JKL to comedy newcomer to late night, Carmen Lagala on Colbert. Carmen performs in festivals across the country and in clubs around New York City including co-hosting the “Creek Bros” show each month at The Creek and the Cave in Long Island City, New York.
