The 2018 Winter Olympics have begun! And one event that isn’t included in the Winter Games is late night talk, comedy and variety. So, with that in mind, NBC is pre-empting its late night programming this week which means no episodes (new or otherwise) of the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon or Late Night with Seth Meyers. Watch for the NBC boys to be back once all the medals are handed out in South Korea.
With Jimmy F. and Seth getting time off while our athletes snowboard, ski and figure skate on the other side of the world, Conan, Stephen Colbert and James Corden have also decided to sit this week out and air repeats. The execs at their networks are just assuming that people would rather watch some Olympic style curling instead of late night talk. So this week, we’re only getting new offerings from Jimmy Kimmel Live and the Daily Show with Trevor Noah which is putting together a run of theme shows this week which you can see in the full listings below.
Some repeat highlights you might want to catch if you missed them the first time or want to see it again include, Dina Hashem performing stand up on Conan on Tuesday’s rerun, Patton Oswalt stopping by Conan on Wednesday’s Team Coco repeat and Roy Wood Jr. on an encore episode of The Opposition with Jordan Klepper on Comedy Central on Thursday.
And if you desperately need something new and hilarious in late night television, just hold on till Friday when the fabulous Fran Lebowitz is a guest on Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO at 10pm.
