Here’s your late night comedy listings for this week with one special note. ABC has not announced yet if Jimmy Kimmel Live will have its host back this week or if JKL will have guest-hosts filling in this week because of Jimmy needing to be with his family because of his baby son, Billy, having “a scheduled and successful heart surgery.”
It’s always a good start to the week when you get to see someone make their national network television debut. Monday, Amanda Seales will be doing just that on Late Night with Seth Meyers. You may already know her from HBO’s “Insecure” where she plays Tiffany DuBois and this year she was named as one of Time Out LA’s 2017’s Comedians to Watch. Also on Monday night, if you can’t get enough Franco, James Corden hosts both James and Dave Franco on the Late Late Show.
Wednesday, we have another national television comedy debut to watch for as Jaboukie Young-White performs on the Tonight Show. Jaboukie was recently named to the New York Comedy Festival’s Eighth Annual Comics to Watch showcase and if that credential wasn’t enough, he was also part of Rolling Stone’s “25 Under 25” this year, which is a list the magazine compiled of the musicians, actors and activists editors feel are “changing the world.”
Also on Wednesday, Australian comedian Tim Minchin returns to the Late Late Show with James Corden. Tim is not only a comedian, but he does just about everything in show business and that includes winning Tony Awards for writing the music and lyrics for the musical version of Roald Dahl’s “Matilda“. Also included on his resume, is playing young Donald Trump on the Late Late Show. So, hopefully on Wednesday, we’ll see Young Donald playing on his swing again. Add Tim Minchin to fellow guests that night, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jack Black from the updated adventure comedy, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle“, and you get a pretty funny Late Late Show on Wednesday.
Not to sound too much like an infomercial, but plus there’s even more on Wednesday! The hilarious Noah Gardenswartz returns to Conan to perform stand up. Noah was part of the Just For Laughs New Faces showcase in 2014 and a Last Comic Standing finalist in 2015. Looks like he’s finishing up 2017 strong with a Conan appearance and will most likely have an even bigger 2018.
How could Thursday possibly follow Wednesday’s late night comedy lineup? That’s easy. Kevin Hart will be a guest on Thursday’s edition of the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. Also, one of the Interrobang’s favorite comedic performers, John Early will be on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. And speaking of Kevin Hart, he’ll be hosting the mid-season finale and the last new Saturday Night Live of 2017 on Saturday.
