Pitch Your Pilot To Kevin Hart In July!

Kevin Hart and his HartBeat Digital company announced back in March that he’d partnered up with Lionsgate to create a video-on-demand service called Laugh Out Loud. The service will be a platform that will play host not only to content from Hart — comedy specials and original series, one of which has Hart undercover as a Lyft driver — but also scripted and unscripted projects from up-and-coming comics and social media stars as well.

It appears Hart is intent on bringing in the best content creators possible for his new venture, and to that end, he has partnered up with Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy festival. On Thursday, July 28th, Hart will kick off Just For Laughs ComedyPRO, a comedy conference that runs during the festival, with a panel called Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network Pitch Panel. The idea behind that panel is that comics, writers and producers will submit their ideas for an original pilot to Hart and the panel, and if Hart likes what they’ve brought to the table, he’ll give them a spot on the Laugh Out Loud roster.

Interested parties have until Wednesday, July 13th to submit a one-page outline of their project to industry@hahaha.com. Ten finalists will be picked from the group, who will then go to Montreal’s Hyatt Regency Grand Salon Opera to give a two-minute presentation to Hart and the panel. One lucky winner will then be chosen to receive financial backing from Hart, as well as the exposure that comes with being on a video service created by one of the world’s biggest comics.

Just For Laughs will take place from July 13th to August 1, while the Just For Laughs ComedyPRO conference will run from July 27th to the 30th. Tickets for all of these events can be purchased at hahaha.com
