Just for Laughs is in FULL swing. This is our second day sharing photos, check out our first day’s shots from Wednesday here.
Caught up with Jackie Kashian out on the Terrace at the Hyatt– headquarters for all things Just for Laughs working on some notes. Jackie’s here opening for Maria Bamford, and also doing a taping of her podcast, The Dork Forest and told us all about her new podcast, The Jackie and Laurie Show. More on that later!
One of Variety’s top ten to watch, Vladimir Caamano perfectly photo bombed our photo of The Stand crew, David Kimowitz, Patrick Milligan and Chris Italia.
Lil Rel looked like a million at the Variety Top Ten Comics to Watch cocktail party. He’ll be hosting the Top 10 showcase with all ten comics performing.
Jermaine Fowler is one of Variety’s 10 to watch and is having a ball at Just for Laughs. We caught him hanging out on the Terrace at the Hyatt.
James Adomian shares a spot on the Variety Top 10 with his touring debate partner Anthony Atamanuik, but wanted to make sure he got a solo photo first.
So that’s what Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump look like when the cameras are off. James Adomian and Anthony Atamanuik pose at the Variety cocktail party.
While Just for Laughs comedy fans were safely tucked inside watching comedy shows, the ENTIRE COUNTRY OF CANADA seems to have snuck into the plaza below to hear French comedy on the outdoor stage. Those of us who got caught up trying to walk against the current as the show emptied out, barely lived to tell the tale.
J.B. Smoove hanging out with Chris Cubas after Roast Battle Thursday night looking like the perfect casting for America’s next great buddy cop movie.
Andy Fiore checking out the smoked meat sandwich (amazing by the way) at the Comedy Central party some time around 1:30am. And Andy knows sandwiches.
We spotted Jeffrey Gurian getting into the Facebook live soundbooth ready to rock. We kept waiting for dollar bills to drop from the ceiling, but it never happened.
Russell Peters was holding court at the Comedy Central party Thursday night. And yes, that is Andy Fiore in the background, managing to get into the column twice now. Late late late party-stayers were treated to Russell Peters taking over the music and getting the diehards on the dance floor. Check that photo out in Gail Bennington’s “Bennington Family Just for Laughs Photo Diary.”
Eugene Mirman looking badass in tinted shades in the Hyatt Lobby.
truTV was kind enough to supply everyone with carbs for a late night breakfast. Bagels and lox in Montreal, making us feel like we are back in New York…almost.
Casey Crawford, woke up a sleepyish late night crowd at the New Faces Unrepped Showcase with a killer set. If he doesn’t have a manager by now, we’re completely shocked.
Nick Kroll showed up fashionably after midnight to the Comedy Central party after absolutely KILLING the audience at Theater Gesu with the first of three Oh Hello shows. Janeane Garofalo joined Nick and John Mulaney on stage to proudly proclaim that while she has no problem with a lot of tuna…she was concerned that it might be a little old.
Who dat? Bennington producer Chris Stanley in the lobby with Bert Kreischer.
Lots more to come!
