UPDATE: Judd Apatow had been enticing Norm Macdonald to be part of “An Evening with Judd Apatow and Friends” at Largo at the Coronet. And he pulled it off. Apatow tweeted that Norm will be part of the Tuesday night benefit show to help The Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

Judd Apatow is bringing his friends to Largo at the Coronet in Los Angeles Tuesday night for a benefit show of comedy and music. The event is being called “An Evening with Judd Apatow & Friends” and proceeds are going to help The Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

The friends that Judd Apatow is bringing to Largo include musician, singer-songwriter and actor John Doe, front man for the legendary punk band, X and The Knitters. Doe has appeared in several movies like “Roadhouse” and “Boogie Nights” as well as working on film soundtracks and doing roles on television.

Plus, there could be a special appearance by Norm Macdonald. Judd Apatow reached out to him on Twitter which went from a shout out to a definite maybe. Norm made headlines last week after appearing on SNL 40 rundown on how Eddie Murphy didn’t want impersonate Bill Cosby in one of the sketches. Judd Apatow has been a leading voice against Cosby since more than two dozen women have come forward to accuse him of sexual assault.

Comedians Andy Kindler and Natash Leggero round out the list of Apatow pals performing at “An Evening with Judd Apatow & Friends”. The Brady Campaign and Center to Prevent Gun Violence is a national organization which is working to raise awareness about gun issues in this country in gun safety and behavior around firearms.
