Jimmy Fallon Brings Up Stealing Fran Lebowitz’s Dream Apartment Again
Fran Lebowitz has always been the coolest hippest New Yorker and she doesn’t play games or mince words. Last time she was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon she very frankly told him she was pissed that he grabbed her dream apartment out from under her, and like the adorable little imp that he is, he treated it like fun little game. But you really did steal her dream house Jimmy, and we still don’t get why you think that’s adorable.
Last night Fran told Jimmy that she met his wife at a party recently and she said, “I knew who she was because she said to me, hi I’m the person who stole your apartment and your name.” (The Fallons named their youngest daughter Francis, and call her Francie, Lebowitz’s childhood nickname.) According to Lebowitz, Mrs. Fallon continued by describing what she did to the apartment. “These people have a strange idea that I’m happy for them,” Lebowitz said. Fallon’s wife insisted that Fran would love what she’s done with the apartment. Lebowitz answered, “no I’m not.”
Hopefully this is the last time Fallon will bring up the whole affair so we can get back to hearing more important things, like the names of those cool books Lebowitz is sure Jimmy would never read.
We did get to find out that even though Lebowitz hates musicals, she did finally find one that she enjoyed. “Hamilton was really good,” she told Fallon, which she didn’t expect because (a) it’s a musical and (b) everyone loves it which is a sure sign that something isn’t good. There’s no bursting into song, Lebowitz said, which makes it “not annoying.”
