Jim Breuer to Host Week-Long ‘Stars of SNL’ Movie Marathon

Are you a fan of Saturday Night Live? Do you relish turning on the TV to find a classic film starring one of your favorite SNL alumni about to begin? If so, then clear your calendar from Saturday, March 25th to Friday, March 31st, because HDNET MOVIES has a surprise for you.

HDNET MOVIES, the commercial-free network that plays high-quality feature films for both streaming, cable and dish customers, has just announced that they are planning a week-long movie marathon paying tribute to the various stars of SNL. Hosted by SNL veteran Jim Breuer, the Stars of Saturday Night event will kick off with six days of films featuring many fan-favorite players, from original cast members like John Belushi and Chevy Chase to more recent faces like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. On Friday, the event will end with a “Five-Timers Club Marathon,” which will pay homage to some of SNL’s most recurring hosts, like Steve Martin and Danny DeVito.

Other cast members who will be highlighted in the marathon include Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Chris Farley, Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Norm Macdonald, Rachel Dratch, Dana Carvey, Bill Hader, Gilda Radner, Andy Samberg and more.

The week-long event is meant to honor the comedic accomplishments of SNL and the various cast members who have elevated its profile. The show is an institution, and the comedy landscape would look much different without its silhouette on the horizon. “To me SNL is the catapult for comedy culture in our society,” said Breuer in a statement. “Some of the greatest comedic talent in history comes from SNL.”

Below, you will find a short introduction of the event from host Jim Breuer, along with a schedule of which films will be airing when; Check out the list and be sure to mark down when your favorite films will be playing!
