It’s Introduce Your Friends to Maria Bamford Day

The Maria Bamford Show Now Available on YouTube Channel
Maybe I just made that up, but really, it’s better than some of the other made up holidays, right?
While a lot of people reading his site already know who Bamford is, she still falls into the “offbeat” category. Today, the SuperDeluxe YouTube channel just added The Maria Bamford Show to their channel, for your viewing pleasure. All episodes are uploaded, and ready for you to stream uninterrupted.
Originally produced in 2007 while Bamford was dealing with very real mental health issues, the series was initially released on the TBS produced ‘Super Deluxe’ website. The Maria Bamford Show was beloved by fans and critics. The New Yorker called it “a cold blast of brilliance, capturing in miniature the existential loneliness of someone who feared she’d never be able to live in the world of ‘normal’ people.” The series was re-released in 2009 as part of Bamford’s album, “Unwanted Thoughts Syndrome.”
Maria is very honest about her own mental health. Brutally honest. Bamford has a brand of honesty that makes a lot of people uncomfortable, yet she delivers it with such precision and good intentions, she has developed a cult like following. This May, Maria Bamford is set to take the mainstream by storm when her Netflix Original Series Lady Dynamite premieres . Bamford and friends made the announcement a few weeks ago via twitter with the hashtag #whoisMariaBamford. Everyone from Sarah Silverman to Maria’s own dad got in on the fun.
If you are Bamford fan, do all of your friends a favor and spread the Bamford love today.
