Heckler Pelts Comedian John Caparulo with Glass After Trump Dick Joke

The night-to-night life of a comedian is filled with highs and lows. Some nights, you’re absolutely slaying a room, with the crowd at your mercy. Other nights, you’re being heckled and getting pelted with cocktail glasses after making a tame joke about the President. John Caparulo had one of those low nights this past weekend.

Caparulo, best known for his appearances on Chelsea Lately and as the host of CMT’s Mobile Home Disaster, was performing a run-of-the-mill set at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, CA when he had a run in with some easily-irked hecklers. After cracking a joke about how President Trump’s future monument will be in the shape of a dick, two women in the front row yelled “fuck you!” at the comic. Caparulo proceeded to dish it right back at them, as the first one got up and left and the second gathered her belongings. Caparulo and the remaining heckler continued to bicker for a few moments before the woman grabbed a glass from her table and threw it at the comic. The glass shattered as it hit Caparulo and the stage.

The heckler, of course, immediately walked away and for a moment, it looked like Caparulo was about to heave his stool at her. He quickly corrected himself, however, as it was obvious that the crowd was on his side. The rest of the audience began to boo the woman, even yelling out to Caparulo “Thank you, she was a bitch all night!” For his part, Caparulo handled it well: He quickly steered the situation back towards comedy, likening it to a confrontation at an awkward family reunion and pulling the crowd back into the show.

TMZ has the footage from that night, which you can check out below:
