Katt Williams Speaks About Assault on Store Employee

As we previously mentioned, comedian Katt Williams was arrested on Monday afternoon after he assaulted a pool store employee in Gainesville, GA. Today, more details surrounding the incident have emerged.

According to Williams’ account, given to a TMZ reporter while on his way into an L.A. courthouse for an unrelated case, he was completely justified in putting his hands on the store clerk. “He thought, when he was having a conversation with me, that I was in his pool store to rob him,” Williams said calmly. “When I put thirty items on the counter, he then thought it was just a ploy to distract him.” Williams continued that he put $1500 in cash on the counter to pay for said items, and that the clerk took the cash, pocketed it, and then continued to ring him up for his items.” Williams’ reaction? “Sir, that’s not how anyone does business in America.” The clerk then apparently told Williams that he’d only just been hired at the store and that he didn’t care about the job. If Williams kept messing with him, the clerk insisted, he would throw Williams out of the store.

Shortly after, the clerk apparently used the ’n’ word and that’s when Williams threw an item at him and then circled the counter to punch him in the face. The cops were called, and when they arrived, Williams was face down in the parking lot with his hands behind his back. “He used the ’n’ word on the last day of Black History Month,” Williams said in disbelief. Williams is sticking to his story and the outcome of this case is uncertain, so until then it’s just another court date that the notoriously troubled comedian has to anticipate on his calendar.

Earlier in the weekend he made headliners for calling Kevin Hart a puppet.
