Guy Who Canceled Freaks and Geeks Stands By Decision

The suit who banished Freaks and Geeks defended his decision to Seth Rogen. According to the Huffington Post, Rogen ran into the exec backstage at Saturday Night Live this past weekend. “Freaks and Geeks” didn’t last an entire season on NBC. The network only aired 12 of the 19 ordered episodes before it was cancelled.
Rogen talked about how the encounter started at SNL. “I overheard someone say the name of the guy who canceled ‘Freaks and Geeks.’ I know his name, obviously, because we’ve talked about how stupid he is for the last 15 years”.
The unnamed network TV boss hasn’t changed his mind about the decision according to Rogen. “He was like, ‘You know, Judd [Apatow, ‘Freaks and Geeks’ executive producer] wouldn’t listen to my notes.’ I was like, ‘The notes probably were stupid. He oddly dug in and kind of tried to justify it.”
The show was created by Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) and executive produced by Judd Apatow, and had a cast which included Rogen, James Franco, Jason Segel, Busy Philipps, Steve Higgins, Ben Foster and John Francis Daley.
You have to admit none of the talent from that show went on to do anything. History proved the hatchet man made the right call.
