Erik Griffin’s First Hour Special, ‘The Ugly Truth,’ to Debut on Showtime in July

Comedian and actor Erik Griffin has been very busy these last two years. In addition to his role as Montez on Workaholics, Griffin has appeared on Bob’s Burgers, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, and Showtime’s 70’s stand-up comedy show I’m Dying Up Here. In addition to his acting, he’s been doing stand-up all over the country, shooting a half-hour Comedy Central Presents special and hitting the stages of shows like The Late Late Show with James Corden and @midnight. Now, Griffin’s next project is set to debut next month: His new Showtime special, Erik Griffin: The Ugly Truth.

Griffin is a charismatic, clever guy who shirks heavier topics like politics in favor of more light-hearted ribbing of things like dating and Beyonce. To that end, The Ugly Truth looks to be delivering peak Griffin, with the comic tackling everything from the deceptiveness of profile pictures and the surprisingly catchy music played in Fatburgers, to his proposal of banning new parents from public for five years to spare other people having to deal with their children.
