Preview Globesmen, Documentary Now’s First Season Two Clip

IFC has just released a clip from the upcoming season of their faux-documentary show, Documentary Now! The show, which stars SNL alums Bill Hader and Fred Armisen, consists of the duo playing roles in mockumentaries that are filmed in the styles of famous documentaries both old and new.

The clip, which is posted below, has Hader and Armisen playing globe salesmen Pete and Tom, respectively. The pair are just wrapping up a sale to a middle class family when Tom (Armisen) makes an incredibly awkward comment about the family’s daughter and, well, things don’t go too well. The episode, called Globesmen, is an homage to the classic 1968 Maysles brothers’ documentary, Salesmen, that followed four salesmen traveling the country selling pricey Bibles door-to-door.

The guys have done a great job so far of making their episodes feel like documentaries from various time periods, and Hader and Armisen, backed up by fellow writer/producer Seth Meyers (and the always-classy Helen Mirren as narrator) have never failed to bring the funny, so this upcoming season is sure not to disappoint.

Season 2 of Documentary Now! will premiere this September. IFC will be airing a marathon of season one for anyone who isn’t up to date starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 26th.
